Pilates for Scoliosis – 2-Day Workshop
with BASI Faculty, Rika Brixie
Rika Brixie joins BASI Pilates Benelux for a special course weekend during Scoliosis awareness month.
This 2 day workshop will introduce the three-dimensional curves of a scoliosis, methods of assessing them and the physical and emotional effects that these curves have on the body, and the person, as a whole. Pilates for Scoliosis will provide detailed insight into the symptoms, onset, causes and treatment protocol for scoliosis.
Participants will learn how to modify and adapt exercises for differing curve patterns as well as exploring repertoire on the mat and Pilates apparatus, specifically designed to optimise movement and conditioning for each unique scoliotic spine.
In addition to the 2-day workshop you can join Rika for a Master Class Friday 6 June 16:00 – 17:15 – a mat class with specialised focus on scoliosis and spinal asymmetries.
The master class is followed by a Community Round Table Discussion on Pilates for Scoliosis with Rika and other special guests. Friday 6 June 17:45 – 19:00.
Rika will also be on site Friday giving Privates and small group lessons that can be observed.
